Joe Baiocco litigates and manages a diverse range of civil claims in the areas of employer, transportation, general and premises liability. Joe has been retained by numerous insurance carriers and self-insured clients to defend employers, commercial trucking companies, property owners, retail chains and institutional clients in high-exposure personal injury and wrongful death lawsuits throughout New York State. He also manages litigation handled by Wilson Elser attorneys and local counsel across the country and is the Deputy Chair of the firm's Transportation, Cargo and Logistics practice. Prior to joining the firm, he was an assistant district attorney in Bronx County, NY.

A significant portion of Joe’s practice involves the defense of large, national employers in high-exposure claims brought by employees seeking workers compensation for catastrophic injuries. Joe also regularly defends trucking companies in personal injury and wrongful death claims arising from vehicular accidents as well as in disciplinary proceedings before licensing authorities. In addition, Joe has experience defending property owners in lead paint poisoning claims alleging brain damage and neurological difficulties in children. His past experience in the premises liability area includes the representation of a large public housing authority in claims involving negligent security, a topic on which he co-wrote an article for The New York Law Journal in 2004.

Joe’s primary client service goal is to provide high-quality, consistent work product whether for a case in New York that he is directly litigating or a case in California he is managing through colleagues and local counsel. He is an approved provider of continuing education in several states and frequently presents programs to claims adjusters covering federal and state litigation.
