Joseph P. Griffith

Joe Griffith is a shareholder in the Dallas office of Greenberg Traurig. As a trial lawyer who focuses on civil litigation, he has represented companies and individuals in a variety of disputes, with an emphasis on complex commercial litigation, contract litigation, business tort litigation, financial services litigation, intellectual property litigation, as well as Securities and Exchange Commission and other regulatory investigations. His trial practice is national, extending to both federal and state courts across the country. Joe also regularly counsels clients on strategies to avoid litigation and has developed in-house training programs on various issues relating to risk assessment, risk management and risk avoidance.

In addition to his professional practice, Joe has been involved in numerous bar association activities and community service projects. He is an active member of the Federal Bar Association on a local and national level. Most notably, Joe is the Immediate-Past President of the Dallas Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. On the national level, Joe was recently appointed by The Honorable Gustavo Gelpi (D. P.R.) to serve on the Federal Bar Association’s Government Relations Committee.

Joe has been named four times (2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014) by the publishers of Texas Monthly as a "Texas Rising Star," recognizing him as one of the state’s top 2.5 percent of lawyers under the age of 40.

Following law school, Joe served as a law clerk to the Honorable Frank Montalvo of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas.
