Josh Weisser

Josh Weisser is an associate in Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher’s New York office. He is a member of the Business Restructuring & Reorganization Practice Group. Mr. Weisser’s practice focuses on the representation of lenders, secured creditors, acquirers, sponsors and bondholders in complex chapter 11 cases and out of court restructurings in various industries.

Recently, Mr. Weisser was appointed to the Board of Directors for the New York City Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association.

Mr. Weisser received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the Duke School of Law, in 2005. He also received a Masters of Business Administration from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University in the same year. He graduated, with distinction, from Cornell University in 2000.

Mr. Weisser is admitted to practice in the New York U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York.

Capmark Financial Group, Inc: Represented Normandy Realty Partners in acquisition of controlling interest in Capmark distressed real estate partnership.
Loehmann’s Holdings Inc: Directed sale of retailer in chapter 11 on behalf of secured lender and negotiated distribution of resulting sale proceeds with unsecured creditors.Noble Environmental Power: Represented MSD Capital in out-of-court debt restructuring pursuant to which MSD acquired a controlling interest in the borrower.
TBS International PLC: Represented TBS in first ever prepackaged shipping bankruptcy.
Borders Group: Developed stalking horse bid for intellectual property assets.Trident Natural Resources: Represented pre-existing lenders and equity backstop parties in cross-border court administered restructuring.
General Motors Corp: Assessed benefits of SEC registration for GM post chapter 11 recovery trust and executed registration of same.Ambassadors’ Cruise Group: Represented Secured Lenders and Stalking Horse Purchaser in chapter 11 cases.
