Judd Lauter is an associate in the Trademark, Copyright & Advertising practice group and a member of Cooley's Litigation Department. He joined the Firm in 2013 and is resident in the Washington, DC office.
Mr. Lauter's practice involves client counseling, licensing, and litigation in the fields of trademark and copyright law. Specifically, his practice focuses on the selection, clearance, adoption, and use of trademarks, domestic and international trademark prosecution and enforcement, trademark portfolio management, and the development of comprehensive branding strategies.
Prior to coming to Cooley, Mr. Lauter was an associate at Silverberg Goldman & Bikoff LLP, where his practice focused on trademark litigation and prosecution, and trademark rights holder advocacy within the International Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).
Mr. Lauter received his JD, with honors, from the George Washington University Law School in 2012. During law school, he served as a member of the Public Contracts Law Journal. He earned his BA in philosophy from the University of Colorado in 2007.
Mr. Lauter is admitted to practice in California and Washington, DC. He is a member of the American Bar Association.
