Lewis Cohen is a partner in the Capital Markets practice in Hogan Lovells’ New York office, focusing his practice on international structured finance transactions.

Lewis concentrates his practice on representing underwriters, issuers, credit enhancers, and rating agencies in cross-border structured finance, FIBRA, and other capital markets transactions. He advises on public and private structured finance transactions in a wide variety of assets, including credit card receivables, residential and commercial mortgage loans, trade receivables, equipment leases, and various esoteric assets, as well as "future flow" securitizations of assets such as oil exports and maritime freight receivables. Lewis is very active in the area of FIBRA transactions in Mexico. He also regularly advises on covered bond transactions, having worked on covered bond programs for issuers and underwriters in Latin America, the UK, Continental Europe, Australia, and Canada.

Lewis advises on financings involving domestic U.S. assets, as well as assets in Latin America, Europe, and Asia. His experience includes structuring master trusts, commercial paper vehicles, offshore and domestic special purpose vehicles, and other entities that can issue a variety of debt and equity securities. He has also been a frequent speaker on the topic of cross-border structured finance and capital markets.
