Linda Shudy Lecomte

Linda Shudy Lecomte concentrates her practice primarily on patent counseling, including due diligence evaluations, opinions, licensing and negotiations, patent portfolio management, cross-border pre-litigation preparation, and patent prosecution (both foreign and domestic), with particular emphasis in the electrical, computer software, biomedical, and mechanical arts. Ms. Lecomte has litigated and arbitrated in the patent, trade secret, and licensing practices. Ms. Lecomte has assisted multiple corporations in setting up their patent procurement programs and trade secret protocols.

Ms. Lecomte’s experience covers a vast range of technologies, including telecommunications, software applications and legacy systems, healthcare systems, aerospace, financial software, big data systems, computer devices and peripherals, cryptography, artificial intelligence systems, interactive entertainment systems, automotive components, and medical devices. Ms. Lecomte counsels a wide range of clients, from multinational corporations to small businesses to start-ups in these and other technologies.

Ms. Lecomte has presented on intellectual property topics including 35 USC §101 patentability, trade secrets, design patents, and non-practicing entities (NPEs), in the US, Europe, and Asia. Ms. Lecomte is an active member of the Deutscher Verband der Patentingenieure und Patentassessoren e.V. (VPP), American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), Association International pour la Protection de la Propriété Intellectuelle (AIPPI), and Deutsche Vereinigung für Gewerblichen Rechtsschutz und Urheberrecht (GRUR). Ms. Lecomte recently served as a member of the AIPLA EU Delegation in June 2016.

Prior to joining Wuersch & Gering, Ms. Lecomte was a partner at Arent Fox LLP (general practice firm) in New York, and prior to that, a partner at Kenyon & Kenyon LLP (intellectual property boutique). During her practice at Kenyon & Kenyon LLP, Ms. Lecomte spent three years working in their Frankfurt, Germany office.
