Lori Sinanyan provides business advisory and crisis management services to regional and national clients. Her practice focuses on protecting and advancing the interests of financially troubled companies, parties seeking to invest in debtors or acquire distressed assets, and creditors. On the transactional side, Lori has counseled on restructuring planning, distressed sales and acquisitions, corporate governance, fiduciary duties, contract interpretation, and negotiating and preparing reorganization plans. Her litigation experience includes defending clients in contract disputes, claims objections, avoidance actions, and other contested matters.
Creditor representations include Twentieth Century Fox in various restructuring matters, Universal and Fox as rescue DIP financiers in the Rhythm & Hues bankruptcy, creditor plan proponents holding claims over $1 billion in the MF Global cases, Onex Corporation in the Hawker-Beechcraft bankruptcy, FGIC in the Residential Capital bankruptcy, the creditors' committee in Thorpe Insulation, Kimpton Hotels in a hotel acquisition, the Daughters of Charity in an acquisition of a nonprofit hospital in bankruptcy, an ad hoc noteholders' committee in Chemtura, and an ad hoc noteholders' committee in a multibillion casino restructuring. Debtor representations include Plant Insulation and an out-of-court restructuring of a California community hospital.
Prior to joining Jones Day, she represented chapter 11 debtors Leiner Health Products (pharmaceuticals), W. R. Grace & Co. (specialty chemicals), Calpine Corporation (power), Solutia (chemicals), Cable & Wireless (USA) (telecommunications), Centis (designer/manufacturer), and Union Acceptance Corporation (finance), as well as Morgan Creek Productions (entertainment), Greenwich Capital Markets (finance), and chapter 11 trustees in Ritter Ranch Dvlpt. and DIVA Systems.
