Marjorie Fisher Gannett

Marjorie F. Gannett is a real estate transactions attorney in Holland & Knight's Washington, D.C., office and a member of the firm's Real Estate Practice. Ms. Gannett represents institutional lenders, developers, owners and tenants in a broad spectrum of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing transactions, joint ventures, leases and ground leases. Ms. Gannett's practice comprises all asset classes, with a focus on the acquisition, ownership and development of environmentally impacted properties.

Ms. Gannett has extensive experience acquiring, financing and selling large portfolios of gas station sites. Ms. Gannett's retail gas station practice includes entity structuring, conducting real estate and environmental due diligence, reviewing franchise agreements, negotiating with oil companies, negotiating mezzanine and mortgage loan documents, and advising clients about appropriate insurance. She drafts and negotiates long-term ground leases for the operation of gas station properties, as well as ground leases for the redevelopment of properties for other uses. Ms. Gannett negotiates supply and wholesale distributor agreements and advises gas station companies about federal law regarding the ownership, operation and disposition of gas station sites. Ms. Gannett also acts as corporate counsel in advising gas station owners and distributors on an ongoing basis with respect to all aspects of owning and operating gas station properties, including contract preparation and interpretation, financing issues, property-related documents, development and corporate issues.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Ms. Gannett was a real estate partner based in the Washington, D.C., office of an international law firm, where she led a team of attorneys who concentrated on acquiring and financing energy-related properties.
