Mark W. Bayer

Mark W. Bayer serves as Managing Partner of the Dallas office of Barnes & Thornburg. As a member of the Litigation Department, he concentrates his practice on antitrust, securities, privacy, theft of trade secrets, intellectual property, class actions, RICO and other complex litigation.

With more than 30 years of litigation experience, he has appeared in state and federal courts in Texas, California, New York, Florida, Alabama and others in the Northeast, Midwest and South. Mr. Bayer represents a diverse set of clients from industries such as insurance, waste management, hospitality, healthcare, utilities, data aggregation, securities, financial services, manufacturing, telecommunications, advertising, energy and retail. He advises clients in matters before the Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission, the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Texas Attorney General.

Mr. Bayer has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America, Chambers USA: Americas Leading Lawyers for Business, Texas Super Lawyers, Who's Who Legal, PLC Cross-Border Dispute Resolution Handbook and AV Preeminent Peer Reviews.

After earning his A.B. from the Bowdoin College, Mr. Bayer earned his J.D. from the Columbia Law School.

Active in the community, Mr. Bayer is a Fellow of the State Bar of Texas and the Dallas Bar Association, and a member of the American Bar Association. He is a former director of The World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth, a member of the Dallas Committee for a Qualified Judiciary and the former president of the Bowdoin College Alumni Association.

Mr. Bayer is admitted to practice in Texas and before the U.S. Supreme Court, Texas Supreme Court, U.S. District Courts for the state of Texas, and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 2nd, 5th, 8th, 10th and 11th Circuits.
