Marty is a member of the firm's Commercial Litigation Group. He is a trial attorney with a focus on managed care litigation, consumer financial services litigation, consumer and other class actions, complex general commercial litigation, and a variety of emergency and other injunctive relief proceedings. He is a member of the Trial Bar and has litigated and tried cases in jurisdictions across the continental United States and Puerto Rico. Marty also has extensive experience in federal and state appeals.

In addition to his legal work, Marty is deeply committed to pro bono and community service. He has donated his time and services to Chicago Volunteer Legal Services, Lawyers for the Creative Arts, the American Civil Liberties Union, and HotHouse/Center for International Performance and Exhibition.

He also frequently writes and lectures about a variety of topics. In the area of consumer financial services, he is the founder, former editor and a contributor to the CFSL Bulletin, a blog devoted to legal developments in consumer financial services litigation. In addition, Marty regularly speaks on developments in this area, including the recent changes under Title X of the Dodd-Frank Act. He also served on the editorial board of Law360’s Privacy & Consumer Protection publication.
