Matthew is a skilled appellate and trial litigator who handles a variety of complex litigation, with a focus on patent and intellectual property issues. He has argued 10 Federal Circuit appeals and briefed numerous others, involving issues such as patent law, administrative law, and Fifth Amendment takings. He represented Nobel Laureate James Watson, co-discoverer of the DNA double helix, as amicus curiae in the groundbreaking 2013 Supreme Court gene patent case. Matthew has over 15 years of experience representing clients before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
From 2008 to 2009, Matthew served as Law Clerk for the Honorable Paul R. Michel, Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
