Matthew J. Siembieda

Matthew advises companies involved in complex commercial litigation, including class actions. Matthew handles patent and trade secret matters, environmental issues, Options Clearing Corporation issues, commercial and securities fraud, insurance coverage, qui tam matters, taking claims, creditors’ and debtors’ rights, contract disputes, antitrust matters, cartel matters, and merger litigation. He also defends clients accused of white collar crimes and Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) violations.

Matthew has significant experience working with international compliance issues, and has counseled global companies on compliance issues, including antitrust, FCPA, market manipulation, trading with the enemy, and privacy matters. This experience takes into account laws from various jurisdictions. He has particular experience working with European and U.S. compliance matters. He is a visiting adjunct professor at Temple Law School, lecturing on these trade and compliance matters.

Matthew has more than 30 years of experience in complex commercial litigation. He has substantial trial experience (including jury), and has handled competition matters before the European Commission. He counsels companies on litigation issues that relate to acquisitions and competition. He also represents clients in claims with and against the U.S. government, and conducts internal investigations. Before joining Morgan Lewis, Matthew was a partner at a full-service law firm, where his practice focused on matters from commercial to intellectual property litigation. For two years before entering private practice, he served as a law clerk to Senior Judge William Hastie of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
