Before rejoining Haynes and Boone, LLP in June 2015, R. Sean Elliott served as Vice President, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Chief Compliance Officer of CARBO Ceramics, Inc. (NYSE:CRR), a publicly-traded oilfield services technology company. Sean started with CARBO in 2007, and previously served as legal counsel to Aviall, Inc. (an international aviation company) from 2004 to 2007, where he last held the positions of Assistant General Counsel and Assistant Secretary. Sean originally practiced law at Haynes and Boone from 1999 until 2004.
With nearly a decade of experience in senior corporate leadership roles, Sean has a unique prospective that helps him provide clients with practical advice. His ability to find and suggest solutions that strike an appropriate balance between legal concerns and business priorities has allowed him to become a trusted advisor to board members, officers and other executives.
Sean’s practice at Haynes and Boone focuses on mergers and acquisitions and corporate financings, but also includes general business transactions such as partnerships, distribution arrangements, commercial purchase and sale agreements and master service agreements. In addition, Sean has significant experience in corporate governance matters, including compliance with the requirements of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.
