Richard A. Mojica

Richard Mojica's practice is focused on international trade and customs compliance counseling. Mr. Mojica regularly advises clients on a variety of U.S. customs issues, including tariff classification, valuation, country of origin determinations, free trade agreements, penalty proceedings, and duty-preference programs. He has experience with the development and implementation of supply chain optimization strategies and internal customs compliance policies and procedures. He has also represented clients in litigation before the Court of International Trade.

Prior to joining Miller & Chevalier, Mr. Mojica was an associate in the international trade group of a multinational law firm. He also served as an attorney with U.S. Customs and Border Protection's (CBP) Office and Regulations and Rulings, where he authored numerous rulings on topics including the tariff classification, country of origin, and preference program-eligibility of imported merchandise. While at CBP, Mr. Mojica was a U.S. delegate to the World Customs Organization (WCO) in Brussels. Mr. Mojica also supported the U.S. Trade Representative on customs-related matters before the World Trade Organization (WTO), including litigation on the Information Technology Agreement, and the negotiation of multilateral trade agreements.
