SCOTT NONAKA has 22 years of experience in the arbitration and litigation of a broad range of high-stakes complex commercial disputes in Asia, the U.S. and Europe. He also represents clients in internal corporate investigations and white collar matters.

For the past several years, Chambers Asia, The Legal 500 and Global Arbitration Review have recommended Scott for Dispute Resolution. In its most recent edition, Chambers Asia and Chambers Global ranked Scott in “Band 1” for dispute resolution and clients have noted that he has “very good experience in the field of arbitration, not just as counsel but also as arbitrator.”

Scott currently splits his time between Sidley’s San Francisco and Tokyo offices. From 2008 through 2013 he practiced in Japan as a registered foreign lawyer. Scott is a member of the Panel of Arbitrators of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre, and he has served as sole arbitrator in arbitrations administered by the International Chamber of Commerce and the Japan Commercial Arbitration Association.

From 1999 to 2002, Scott served as Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of California.
