Stacie D. Yee

Stacie Yee is a partner in the firm’s Employment practice and is located in the Los Angeles office. She focuses her practice on labor and employment law matters as well as complex commercial litigation.

Ms. Yee represents employers in wage and hour class actions and California Labor Code Private Attorneys General Act representative actions, wrongful discharge, discrimination and retaliation/whistleblower litigation under state and federal laws. This includes representing companies in qui tam actions brought under the federal False Claims Acts alleging whistleblower claims. She has represented numerous companies and individuals in noncompetition/trade secret misappropriation litigation, both in pursuit of companies’ claims for relief as well as defending companies and individuals against claims brought by others. Ms. Yee has represented clients in mediation, arbitration, and at trial, and has successfully represented employers in state administrative proceedings, state court and arbitration.

In addition to litigation, Ms. Yee also provides preventative employment law counseling and advice to clients. This includes review and drafting of employment contracts, employee policies and handbooks, and advising companies on day-to-day employment issues such as leaves, disability accommodation, performance issues and terminations. Ms. Yee has particular expertise assisting Asia-based companies with expanding operations in the United States to navigate employment law issues. She also has worked extensively with both staffing agencies and clients of staffing agencies to advise on joint employer and indemnification issues arising in litigation and in normal-course business operations.

Ms. Yee has written and spoken on wage and hour, trade secret misappropriation, disability discrimination and family leave topics. She regularly provides anti-harassment and discrimination training to clients, as well as “crash courses” to non-California executive management and HR on California employment law compliance.

Previously, she served as a judicial extern for The Honorable Earl Johnson Jr. of the California Court of Appeals.
