Todd Simonson represents public and private sector management in all areas of labor and employment law, with an emphasis on matters involving public safety employees. He has successfully defended employers against high-profile discrimination and harassment litigation, prevailed in numerous arbitrations and administrative appeals upholding serious disciplinary action, and enforced management rights through effective collective bargaining.

Todd regularly conducts complex workplace investigations on behalf of public and private sector clients, including investigations of high-ranking public officials. Todd also provides daily advice and counsel to clients about litigation avoidance, implementing disciplinary actions, collective bargaining issues, and the California Public Safety Officers’ and Firefighters’ Procedural Bill of Rights Acts.

Todd is a sought-after trainer and presents seminars regarding a wide range of subjects, including: mitigation of liability risks; successful hiring practices; retirement issues; implementing and sustaining disciplinary actions; conducting defensible workplace investigations; and, preventing discrimination, harassment and retaliation.

Before joining the team at SRC, Todd focused his practice at well-regarded local and national labor and employment firms, and was a criminal prosecutor – trying several cases to jury verdict. He earned his law degree while working full-time as a police officer for the City of Oakland.
