Truc T. Do

Truc Do is a trial lawyer and former Los Angeles prosecutor who has tried more than 75 jury trials to verdict. Her practice focuses on representing individuals and corporations in trials, complex business litigation, white-collar criminal defense, and internal corporate investigations.

Truc gained prominence for her trial work as a prosecutor in several high-profile murder cases, including the successful murder retrial of famed music producer Phil Spector. She served as a Deputy D.A. in the Major Crimes Division and the Hardcore Gang Division of the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, where she tried 20 murder cases with a 100 percent conviction rate and obtained two death penalty verdicts.

Before joining Jones Day, Truc was a partner at a major Los Angeles-based law firm. There, she was trial counsel to LG Display in a series of antitrust cases stemming from allegations of a price-fixing conspiracy among LCD panel makers and successfully defended James Ray, a New York Times best-selling author, against charges of reckless manslaughter arising out of three deaths that occurred in a sweat lodge ceremony. After a nationally televised four-month trial, the jury acquitted Mr. Ray of all charged offenses and convicted on the lesser offense of negligence.

Truc is a member of the UCSD Health System Advisory Board, board of directors for the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program, and previous board member for the California Women's Law Center. From 2010 to 2014, she served on the LACBA Judicial Appointments Committee. Truc is a member of the Lawyers Club of San Diego and a Barrister in the J. Clifford Wallace Inn of Court.
