Aaron Swehla is a registered patent attorney who focuses his practice on patent prosecution and counseling. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Swehla worked as an associate at a Houston, Texas, law firm, where he gained broad experience in a variety of areas of patent law—including preparation and prosecution of U.S. and foreign patent applications, patent reexaminations, evaluating patents, rendering patent-related technical opinions (e.g., freedom-to-operate, validity, and infringement), and litigation.
Mr. Swehla’s practice has involved patents relating to a wide array of technologies relating to electrical devices, computer hardware, software, and mechanical devices—e.g., semiconductors, electrical circuits, control systems, telecommunications, computer processing, data storage, data compression, encryption, e-commerce, financial services systems, oil and gas services equipment, and spectroscopy.
Prior to law school, Mr. Swehla provided engineering design and consulting services for power generation plants and water/wastewater treatment plants. His work involved various technologies ranging from communications and controls systems to power generation and distribution technologies.
