Adam Bliss primarily represents and advises mortgage loan services with respect to community interest association laws and consumer financial services laws and regulations.
His work in community interest association law consists of representing mortgage loan servicers to protect the servicers’ and investors’ secured interests against any threats posed by liens in favor of homeowners’ associations, condominium owners’ associations, and cooperatives.
Mr. Bliss also advises mortgage loan servicers on compliance with the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), as well as the changing regulatory landscape in the industry. He has extensive experience reviewing, evaluating, and addressing qualified written requests under RESPA and Regulation X, requests for rescission of loan transactions under TILA and Regulation Z, requests for validation of debt under the FDCPA, and consumer complaints filed with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
