Andrew P. Erdmann

ANDREW ERDMANN is an associate in the firm's New York office. He practices in the areas of corporate and securities law, with a focus on representing clients in all aspects of merger and acquisition and private equity transactions, including public company mergers, purchases and sales of private businesses and formations and dispositions of joint ventures and other strategic alliances and investments. In addition, he advises clients on various securities law, corporate governance, corporate finance and other general corporate law matters. Mr. Erdmann represents a variety of deal participants in M&A transactions, including strategic and financial buyers, sellers and co-investors, in a variety of industries, including insurance and other financial services, technology, telecommunications, television, asset management, professional services, beverages, manufacturing, power generation and real estate.

Select representations include:

KPMG in its acquisition of Rothstein Kass, an accounting and consulting firm catering to the alternative investment fund industry (identified by management as KPMG’s largest acquisition in terms of revenue and employees since the merger of Peat Marwick International and Klynveld Main Goerdeler that formed the current KPMG in 1987);
Prudential Financial Inc. in its joint purchase with a local partner of a Malaysian life insurance company, and associated joint venture arrangements;
Alaska Communications Systems Group, Inc. in its joint venture with General Communication, Inc., which created the largest wireless network in Alaska;
Athene Annuity & Life Assurance Company in its approximately $415 million acquisition of Presidential Life Corporation;
RCN Television S.A., the leading television broadcaster in Colombia, in its joint venture with Fox International Channels, which created MundoFOX, a Spanish-language television network catering to the U.S. Hispanic market;
E. León Jimenez in its sale of a controlling stake of Cervercería Nacional Dominicana, the largest Dominican Republic brewery, to AmBev (valued at over $1 billion), and associated joint venture arrangements;
Avaya Inc. in its approximately $225 million acquisition of Radvision Ltd., and subsequent divestment of a Radvision business unit;
Highstar Capital in the sale of its 50% interest in Intergen N.V., a global power generation company, to GMR Infrastructure for approximately $1 billion (named India Deal of the Year by the India Business Law Journal); and
Nidec Corporation in its acquisition of U.S.-based motors manufacturer Kinetek Group Inc.

Mr. Erdmann is also a certified public accountant, and prior to studying law he was an associate in the corporate tax practice of an international accounting firm in Washington, D.C.
