Andrew T. Bayman

Andy Bayman

is co-chair of King & Spalding’s Life Sciences and Healthcare Practice, a broad, cross-functional and cross-office global initiative involving over 200 lawyers working together across the firm. The practice serves clients in every segment of the life sciences and healthcare industry, including national retail pharmacies, medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturers, hospitals, non-profit and investor-owned health systems, academic medical centers, universities, large physician group practices, healthcare IT and other service providers, and private equity investors across all facets of the legal issues they face.

From 2005-2012, Mr. Bayman was the Practice Group Leader of King & Spalding’s Tort Litigation and Environmental Practice Group. The Practice Group, with over 300 lawyers in five offices (including a state-of-the-art offsite Discovery Center), is one of the largest practice groups of its kind in the U.S. and is devoted exclusively to defending tort litigation. The Practice Group offers a complete array of expertise — from the cost-effective collection of documents, the work-up of scientific and other experts, and a sophisticated motion practice — to trial and appeal, including in class actions and MDLs in notoriously dangerous jurisdictions. The Practice Group was recognized by The American Lawyer in 2012 as one of the top three product liability practices in the country and Chambers USA and the Legal 500 have placed the Practice Group in the top tier of such practices nationwide. Law 360 also named the Practice Group as one of its 2011 Top Five Product Liability Practices in the United States. The Practice Group was also named twice to the National Law Journal’s “Defense Hot List” of top ten firms with cutting-edge, successful strategies.
Mr. Bayman was recently elected to a second term on King & Spalding’s Policy Committee, the firm’s management committee, and has served in numerous other leadership positions within the firm.
