Anthony D. Lehman

Tony Lehman practices construction law, representing owners, developers, suppliers, contractors, architects and engineers.

In his practice, Tony prosecutes and defends architectural design, construction defect and program management claims in litigation and through alternative dispute resolution. Tony also assists clients in reviewing, drafting and revising contracts for large commercial and multifamily residential projects to both minimize risk for his clients and to facilitate resolution of possible disputes that may arise on such projects.

Specifically with respect to dispute resolution, Tony has advised and represented owners, general contractors, program managers, and surety companies concerning a wide variety of construction projects, including wastewater treatment plants, a federal prison, a variety of road construction projects, multifamily housing units, schools, churches and shopping centers. In many of these cases, Tony has worked extensively with clients to achieve favorable settlements of litigation matters through mediation.

In contractual negotiations, Tony has represented developers in drafting and negotiating construction management agreements for office building development, assisted-living facilities and large condominium projects located in the Southeastern United States. Tony has also counseled owners involved with default terminations of non-performing general contractors, including issues related to a multi-state hotel renovation program.

Tony has spent significant time handling other complex commercial litigation as well. This work has included representation of the SEC's appointed receiver of an offshore hedge fund, including drafting complaints and assisting in litigation against the fund's service providers and principals. Tony has also handled matters involving commercial non-solicitation and franchisee non-competition agreements as well as other franchising and licensing disputes for major hotel and restaurant franchisors.
