Bryan M. Webster is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP and is based in the Firm’s Chicago office. He focuses his practice on representing corporate clients in highly-regulated industries in complex commercial litigation and regulatory investigations. He has extensive experience in representing health insurers, third party administrators and pharmacy benefit managers in a broad range of individual and nationwide class action suits challenging provider contracting, claims processing, benefit interpretations and payment practices involving ERISA, RICO, fraud, breach of contract and unfair trade practices claims.
Bryan also frequently counsels corporate health care clients on best practices to mitigate litigation risk and in the creation and implementation of policies and procedures to enhance legal compliance programs. He has previously counseled leading U.S. insurance companies, Fortune 500 health care companies and a world-renowned medical center on an array of issues, including medical software licensing agreements, administrative service agreements, state licensing requirements, network management, data privacy, overpayment recoveries, clinical drug trials, commercial agreements with pharmaceutical drug manufacturers and the creation of multi-million dollar captive insurance policies.
Bryan also dedicates a significant portion of his time to pro bono efforts. He has successfully handled a number of pro bono cases, including serving as a court-appointed guardian ad litem for two minors and previously serving as a volunteer debate coach for a local high school through the National Association for Urban Debate Leagues.
In recognition of the successes Bryan has achieved on behalf of his clients in high stakes litigation matters, Bryan has been recognized as a Super Lawyers Illinois Rising Star in Class Action Litigation in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
Bryan is a member of the bars of the State of Illinois and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois (trial bar) and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh and Eleventh Circuits. While at the University of Missouri, Bryan was named a Truman Scholar Finalist and was elected student body vice president.
