Carrie Simons is a partner practicing in the tax and benefits group, focusing primarily on executive compensation and employee benefits. Carrie advises public and private companies on all aspects of the design, compliance and administration of their executive compensation and employee benefit arrangements, including related tax and securities law issues. Carrie also provides advice on compensation and benefits issues arising in mergers and acquisitions, management buyouts, initial public offerings and other corporate transactions.
From 2009 to 2010, Carrie served as legislation counsel on the Joint Committee on Taxation and, from 2010 to 2012, she served as an attorney advisor in the Office of Tax Policy at the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
Carrie is a frequent speaker on employee benefits issues and is currently the vice chair of the Welfare Plan Issues Subcommittee of the Tax Section of the American Bar Association.
