Christopher J. Johnson

Christopher J. Johnson is a Principal in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. where he represents management in employment cases. During his over 25 years of practice, he has gained extensive litigation experience in all forums, from state and federal courts to administrative agencies and labor arbitrations.

Mr. Johnson practices the spectrum of employment matters, including claims such as race, age, religion, national origin, disability and sex discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliatory discharge, FMLA, and wage and hour issues, as well as representing and counseling employers in all aspects of labor and employment law, including employment discrimination, restrictive covenant and non-compete litigation, employer best practices, family and medical leave issues, workplace safety, and wage and hour disputes. His class action, collective action, and multi-plaintiff experience include suits by both private parties and by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. He has also litigated numerous cases concerning the enforceability of restrictive covenants in employment contracts.

In addition, Mr. Johnson has extensive experience handling a wide range of traditional labor matters. Mr. Johnson interned at the Milwaukee office of the National Labor Relations Board (“NLRB”), and since then has handled numerous hearings and court proceedings with the NLRB and has conducted dozens of NLRB elections and representation hearings. Mr. Johnson has negotiated numerous collective bargaining agreements and successfully tried more than 50 grievance arbitrations. Mr. Johnson also has extensive practice in workplace safety issues, including worker compensation disputes and OSHA compliance and litigation.

Mr. Johnson also routinely counsels clients on a variety of employment practices, including employment contracts, and employee handbooks and employee discipline. He conducts employee training seminars, harassment investigations, and frequently speaks on employment-related topics.
