Colin W. Fraser

Colin Fraser is an associate in the Los Angeles office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. He currently practices with the firm’s Litigation Department. His practice focuses on complex business litigation and transnational litigation. He has significant experience defending against foreign judgments, litigating U.S. claims arising out of foreign countries, and developing and executing effective global strategies.

Some of Mr. Fraser’s representative matters include:

Managed recognition and enforcement defense efforts with foreign counsel in several countries throughout Latin America on behalf of a major multinational energy company.
Represented an energy company in multiple litigations in the U.S. including a civil RICO case brought in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
Produced advocacy films for media and legal engagement in multiple foreign jurisdictions to challenge allegations, raise awareness among stakeholders and disseminate key evidence.
Coordinated global media tracking and outreach in connection with major transnational matter with active litigation and arbitration in various countries.
Represented minority shareholder in month-long trial over control of closely held corporation involving claims for breach of fiduciary duty, conversion, involuntary dissolution, and unfair business practices.

Mr. Fraser commits significant time to legal pro bono matters as well, including the following matters:

Secured reinstatement of funding for treatment programs in pro bono class action on behalf of over 2,000 autistic children in East Los Angeles.
Secured favorable negotiated settlement in pro bono trial involving claims of mortgage fraud and elder abuse.
Secured asylum on behalf of El Salvadoran native based on emerging law protecting victims of severe domestic violence.

Mr. Fraser received his Juris Doctor degree cum laude from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law. He graduated in 2005 from the Boston College honors program with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History.

Mr. Fraser is admitted to practice law in the State of California and the United States District Court for the Central District of California.
