David G. Thomas

David G. Thomas represents clients in a wide variety of complex matters in state and federal courts across the United States, with an emphasis on business and commercial disputes as well as management-side, class-action defense. He has brought cases through judge and jury trials in both state and federal court, and defended companies involved in nationwide collective and class action litigation in both the employment and consumer context. Among other things, David represents nationwide retailers in defending class action claims alleging violations of various Massachusetts consumer protection statutes, including Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 93, Section 105 (precluding retailers from collecting “personal identification information” during credit card transactions, such as ZIP codes) and Chapter 93A, Section 9 (the Massachusetts Consumer Protection Statute). In addition, David represents lenders, mortgage brokers and servicers involved in financial services litigation, including claims under TILA, RESPA, and state laws governing consumer financing. David is an ACEDS certified specialist, regularly handling and counseling clients on electronic discovery. He has lectured, conducted workshops, and served as a legal commentator on a variety of litigation issues. He also represents clients before state and federal administrative agencies as well as in mediation and arbitration proceedings.
