Elizabeth H. Friedgut

Elizabeth Friedgut concentrates her practice in the representation of lenders, investors, developers, contractors and property managers in the financing, acquisition, leasing and management of multiple and single unit residential, commercial and retail real estate projects around the country.

Elizabeth also has extensive experience in federal, state and local government real estate finance programs for the construction, financing and restructuring of multi-family rental housing, including tax-exempt and taxable financings, secondary mortgage market securitized transactions involving Ginnie Mae, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac mortgage-backed securities, mortgage-backed bonds, whole loan and contingent interest participations, public housing and Section 8 housing assistance subsidies as well as loan modifications, workouts, partial payments of claim, coinsurance conversions, loan assignments and foreclosures. She has handled numerous transactions involving transfers of physical assets of individual and pooled properties, as well as equity interests in ownership entities, low income housing and historic rehabilitation tax credit syndications, donation tax credit transaction, property acquisitions and dispositions, public housing mixed finance rental and homeownership developments and housing preservation plans of action. Elizabeth has represented clients in the resolution with HUD of adverse findings against owners resulting from audits performed by the Office of the Inspector General and other HUD investigations. In addition, Elizabeth has experience in the sale of mortgage loan portfolio sales transactions using a variety of securitization structures.
