Erin L. Burke

Erin Burke has substantial experience preparing and trying cases in a broad range of complex litigation matters, with an emphasis on toxic and mass torts and product liability. She has represented multinational companies including Yamaha, Dole, Chevron, and Textron in both individual and class action litigation involving microelectronics and semiconductors, off-road vehicles, personal protective equipment, beverages, pesticides, sealants, roofing products, and truck/automotive parts. Erin has also litigated numerous cases involving health care, fraud and unfair business practices, contract disputes, business torts, and California's Prop 65.

Erin's recent experience includes defending Yamaha in multijurisdiction litigation involving an off-road vehicle. She had primary responsibility for overseeing and coordinating hundreds of cases filed in the western United States, and was also part of two bellwether case trial teams, in Georgia and California; the California jury verdict was recognized as a "top defense verdict" of 2011.

Erin's other trial experience includes defending Dole in a five-month trial involving 12 Nicaraguan men claiming they were rendered sterile due to exposure to a pesticide while working on banana farms in Nicaragua in the 1970s. She also was a member of the trial team defending IBM in a high-profile case involving complex issues of chemical exposure and alleged health effects in IBM's clean rooms. The unanimous jury verdict for IBM was recognized as one of the top defense verdicts of 2004.

Erin is the Administrative Partner for the Los Angeles Office. She is a member of the State Bar of California and the Association of Business Trial Lawyers.
