Fred L. Pillon

Fred L. Pillon is a partner in the San Francisco office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher and co-chair of the firm's Real Estate Department. Mr. Pillon has practiced exclusively in the real estate area, primarily in the areas of finance and investment, including conveyancing, leasing, partnerships and joint ventures, secured transactions and loan workouts.

Mr. Pillon serves as counsel to institutional investors and lenders, including opportunity funds, major national life insurance companies and banks, savings and loans and investment banking firms, as well as developers in connection with acquisitions, dispositions, financings, exchanges, partnership and joint venture structuring, leasing and workouts, involving all types of commercial and residential real property, including office buildings, hotels, shopping centers, multi-family projects and other commercial properties.

Mr. Pillon received a bachelor of arts degree with high honors in political science from the University of California at Berkeley in 1973 and received his J.D. from the University of California at Berkeley (Boalt Hall) in 1976.

Mr. Pillon is a frequent lecturer and panelist and has participated in numerous seminars for the California Continuing Education of the Bar, IMN, the Banking Law Institute, and the Real Estate Securities and Syndication Institute, among other real estate professional and trade associations. Mr. Pillon is also a Contributing Editor to McCreary's Real Estate Insurance Review.

Mr. Pillon is a member of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Section of the American Bar Association, and a member of the Subcommittee on Partnerships, Joint Ventures and Other Investment Vehicles.
