Gordon is a partner in the Life Sciences Health Industry Group, practicing in the area of health care regulatory law. He served as Reed Smith’s life sciences integration partner for the firm’s China offices from 2009-2014. Reed Smith’s offices in Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong and Singapore assist pharmaceutical, medical device, health care, and other clients start operations in China, clear regulatory hurdles, and navigate China’s legal and business challenges.

In the United States, Gordon represents device, drug and diagnostic manufacturers on technology reimbursement, to secure coverage, codes, and payment for innovative products. He advises manufacturers on product development linking clinical trials, regulatory approvals, labeling and reimbursement with marketing, sales, and customer support. His experience includes cardiac implants, orthopedic devices, minimally invasive surgical devices, neurology, ophthalmology, diagnostics, imaging, oncology, and other medical specialty areas. He also develops and implements compliance programs under the anti-kickback, fraud and abuse laws.

Within Reed Smith, Gordon served as both co-chair of the firm's Life Sciences Team and Health Care Group practice leader.
