Greg Gordon has more than 30 years of experience in business restructurings, distress acquisitions and dispositions, and commercial litigation. He has represented debtors, lenders, creditors' committees, estate representatives, and buyers and sellers in out-of-court and in-court restructurings and has substantial experience with cross-border insolvencies. Greg's restructuring, distress M&A, and litigation experience involves a wide variety of industries, including chemicals, homebuilding, metals and mining, technology, energy, oil and gas, timeshare, textiles, automotive, health care, and retail.
Recent out-of-court and chapter 11 debtor matters include Blake Offshore, Bondex, Doskocil, Hereford Biofuels, Kaiser Aluminum, Loewen, and Pillowtex. Recent creditor representations include the Qimonda creditors' committee and creditors in Empire Land, Kimball Hill, LandSource, Mirant, UI Holdings, Woodside, and Xinhua. Cross-border engagements include the Antiguan liquidators for Stanford International Bank. Acquisition and disposition representations include bidders in Crown Village, Flying J, NetVersant, Noble, Polaroid, Red Shield, Schutt Sports, Signature Styles, and Zohar Waterworks and sellers in Hereford Biofuels, Kaiser Aluminum, and Loewen. Recent litigation includes the defense of Southern in fraudulent transfer litigation in the Mirant chapter 11 case, the defense of KB Home in a multi-count lawsuit in the Crown Village chapter 11 case, and the defense of Kaiser Aluminum with respect to environmental and tort claims.
Greg has lectured on numerous topics, including independent fiduciaries, mass tort cases, enterprise valuations, retention of professionals, 363 sales, arbitration, director and officer liability, and lender liability. He also has published articles on a multitude of topics, including claims discounting, retention of key employees, and complex restructurings.
