Gregory Dresser has a broad-based practice, focusing on complex civil litigation. He represents financial institutions in actions relating to the Home Affordable Modification Program, Truth in Lending Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and the unfair competition laws of various states, as well as commercial lenders in actions asserting claims for breach of contract, lender liability, fraud, and false advertising. He also represents clients in a variety of real estate disputes, including lenders in actions seeking judicial foreclosure and enforcement of guaranties, and landlords and tenants in commercial lease disputes. In addition, Mr. Dresser defends clients in a variety of other substantive areas, including actions alleging trademark infringement, theft of trade secrets, false advertising under the Lanham Act, and breach of contract.

Mr. Dresser maintains an active pro bono practice, including a successful challenge to the Defense of Marriage Act, the representation of a class of foster children in Utah's child welfare system, individuals who were the victims of fraudulent real estate transactions, and people with HIV seeking government benefits.

Mr. Dresser was a member of the Contra Costa Legal Services Foundation Board of Trustees from 1995 to 1996 and the AIDS Legal Referral Panel Board of Directors from 1997 to 1998. He is recommended as a leading lawyer in Business Litigation by Northern California’s Super Lawyers. In 1989, he received an Outstanding Pro Bono Lawyer award from the Bar Association of San Francisco.
