Hassan Abbas Shakir is a registered patent attorney and a licensed professional engineer whose practice is focused in patent prosecution in the areas of mechanical, electrical, computer and Internet-related arts. He counsels clients in the medical device, automotive and technology industries on freedom to operate, provides product clearances, and invalidity and non-infringement opinions of domestic and international patents and works closely with them to develop non-infringing options for proposed products and processes. He is experienced in trademark and patent infringement litigation and unfair competition litigation.

Prior to entering the legal profession, Hassan was an engineer for more than 12 years with the New York State Government, designing and managing multimillion-dollar projects. After earning his law degree, he was associated with law firms in Stamford, Connecticut, and New York City where he concentrated in servicing medical device, automotive and Internet-related companies.
