Howard Privette is a partner in the global Securities Litigation practice of Paul Hastings. Mr. Privette represents U.S. and international clients across the United States in a wide range of complex business disputes, and focuses his practice in securities and corporate governance litigation.

In particular, Mr. Privette defends shareholder class actions and derivative suits for clients in the financial, life sciences, and technology industries. He has defended open-market “stock drop” cases, mergers and acquisition (M&A) cases, insider trading cases, FDA approval cases, false claims act cases, and other cases raising issues of corporate governance (including cases involving financial restatements, alleged GAAP violations, and alleged corrupt practices (FCPA)). He also regularly assists companies, officers and directors in relation to internal investigations, and in SEC, DOJ, and other regulatory proceedings.

A trial lawyer who has tried cases in federal and state courts, and in arbitration, Mr. Privette has unique experience among securities defense lawyers in that he has tried to jury verdict both civil and criminal securities fraud cases.
