Since 1996, Jack R. “Rob” Dodson III has practiced law, focusing on the construction and energy industries. Rob has represented clients and tried lawsuits in courts throughout the country.

Rob is licensed in Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi, but he regularly handles matters throughout the country. In addition to his primary practice areas, Rob also has significant experience in general commercial litigation, insurance and products liability litigation.

Rob advises general contractors, owners, and manufacturers regarding construction law issues at all stages of the construction process. He has addressed large design and construction defect claims, payment claims, bid protests and other construction issues. Rob has completely revised the construction agreements for a number of his clients to better protect their interests during the construction process and avoid unnecessary conflict.

In his energy practice, Rob has represented exploration and production interests as well as power generation facility owners and other energy related companies in construction and environmental issues. He represents the interests of oilfield manufacturing and service companies relating to the products supplied to the exploration and production industry, trying numerous civil lawsuits to jury verdict in the state and federal court systems. He has also defended clients from claims of surface owners asserting environmental damage to the property and/or breach of mineral lease agreements.
