Jacob J O Minne

Jacob J.O. Minne is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Intellectual Property and Litigation Practices. Mr. Minne focuses his practice on a variety of IP matters, including patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret litigation, as well as related antitrust matters.

Mr. Minne has worked on patent litigation matters in a variety of technology fields, including semiconductor chip manufacturing methods, medical devices, and mobile software. His experience includes work with cases in a variety of forums, including U.S. District Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the International Trade Commission. He has also worked on a variety of pro bono matters, including assisting with refugee asylum applications and obtaining restraining orders in domestic violence cases.

Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Mr. Minne served as an extern to Judge Steven B. Berlin in the Office of the Administrative Law Judge for the U.S. Department of Labor. He also worked for Lex Machina as a patent litigation analyst and volunteered at the Katherine and George Alexander Community Law Center in San Jose. His paper on broadband internet data caps was published in the Federal Communications Law Journal in 2013.

Mr. Minne received his J.D., summa cum laude, from Santa Clara University School of Law in 2013. While in law school, he served as an editor for the Computer and High Technology Law Journal and was a member of Santa Clara’s Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition team. He received his B.A., with honors, with a double major in international business and international political economy from the University of Puget Sound, in 2008.

Mr. Minne is admitted to practice in California and before the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
