Jacquelyn E. Stone

Jackie chairs the firm's Diversity and Inclusion Committee and is a former member of the firm’s Board of Partners. She previously served as the firmwide hiring partner for over 15 years. She concentrates on general business matters on behalf of corporate clients, legislative matters before the Virginia General Assembly, and regulatory issues before state and federal agencies. She also advises corporate clients on a range of immigration matters.

She has represented clients on legislative issues relating to healthcare, pharmaceuticals, insurance, retirement, telecommunications, education, economic development and more. She has more than 20 years of experience in all aspects of immigration and nationality matters. Her areas of concentration include employment-based visas for employees of multinational companies; professional working visas for engineers, physicians, lawyers, architects, teachers, professors and research scientists; entertainment visas for artists, musicians, performers and professional athletes; and investment visas for entrepreneurs. She has significant experience working with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Department of Labor, U.S. Department of State, U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services, and officials of U.S. Embassies and Consulates. She assists foreign companies and organizations with establishing U.S. operations and coordinating the transfer of key executives. She advises on formulating strategies for short-term and long-term employment of foreign nationals, and provides guidance concerning I-9 programs (including audits), and the complex laws and regulations relating to employer sanctions.

Jackie received her law degree from Harvard Law School and undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia. She was a legislative assistant in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1980 to 1982. Jackie has been recognized for several years as a Virginia "Super Lawyer" and as one of Virginia's "Legal Elite" in government relations and immigration law by Virginia Business magazine.
