Prior to Jim running his own law firm, he was a counsel with the New York office of Crowell & Moring (2007-2011), and before that, he practiced at the New York office of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney (2003–2007). At both firms, he concentrated his practice on commercial litigation, real estate and government relations. Jim’s legal background includes working as a sole practitioner in New Rochelle (1995-2003), and practicing at two other New York City law firms in the areas of insurance defense (1994-1995) and commercial litigation (1992-1994).

He served on the Westchester Republican Judicial Screening Committee and New Rochelle Bar Association Judicial Screening Committee. Jim has been a small claims court arbitrator in the New Rochelle City Court. He ran for New York State Supreme Court Justice in 2010 and fall short in a close race.
