James William Litsey

James concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial lending, real estate law, consumer finance and creditors rights. He has represented banks, finance companies and other creditors in all types of bilateral and syndicated credit facilities, including working capital, term, acquisition, mezzanine, asset based and precious metal consignment facilities. He has represented lenders on large syndicated loans with collateral in many domestic and foreign jurisdictions.

He has handled loans secured by all types of real estate located across the United States, including heavy industrial, paper mills, agricultural, residential and commercial condominiums, multifamily residential, residential subdivisions, restaurant, retail, office, warehouse, mini-storage, hotel, golf course, resort and mixed use properties. He has also represented lenders on loans for commercial and residential real estate construction and development.

In his more than 25 years of experience, James has also represented numerous clients on complex corporate and real estate transactions. He has extensive experience in the financial services industry, and has negotiated many IT and business process outsourcing arrangements for banks. He has represented banks and other parties in the purchase and sale of consumer loan portfolios with an aggregate value in excess of $5 billion.

James also has extensive experience representing lenders in the work-out, foreclosure and bankruptcy of failed real estate construction and development projects, and completed income producing real estate.

James is a certified public accountant in Texas.
