Jason Shyung is an associate in Alston & Bird’s Litigation & Trial Practice Group. He has experience litigating complex commercial disputes at both the trial and appellate level in a number of different substantive areas, including breach of contract, products liability, consumer protection, mortgage compliance, telecommunications, and intellectual property. He has experience briefing legal issues at the trial and appellate level, and he has successfully argued dispositive motions, securing the early dismissal of claims. He has extensive experience in all aspects of discovery, including taking depositions and managing large-scale document productions. He has litigated cases to verdict in federal and state court. He has first-chaired a trial team, securing a complete defense verdict from a federal jury in defeating a Fair Labor Standards Act wage and hour collective action.

Prior to joining the firm, Jason served as a law clerk to the Honorable Judge Catharina Haynes of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Jason received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he was on the editorial board of the Virginia Law Review and graduated Order of the Coif. He graduated from Southern Methodist University summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.
