Jeffrey Quinn joined Shearman & Sterling as Of Counsel in July 2009 and is a member of the firm’s Tax Group.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Quinn was a Managing Director in the Corporate Finance group within the Investment Banking division at Merrill Lynch. In addition to work for the firm’s investment banking clients across a broad range of products and industries, he chaired the firm’s committee reviewing structured products presented to clients.

Before joining Merrill Lynch in May, 2002, Mr. Quinn was a Managing Director with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and Credit Suisse First Boston in the Structured Products group. Prior to joining DLJ in 1998, Mr. Quinn was a Managing Director with Merrill Lynch in the Debt Markets division in London. Prior to being with Merrill Lynch in London, he was a partner with Cadwalader, Wickersham & Tax in the Tax Group. Earlier in his career, Mr. Quinn was a member of the staff of the Office of Tax Legislative Counsel at the Treasury Department, where he focused on the taxation of financial instruments and financial institutions.
