Jeff Cashdan

is a partner in King & Spalding’s national Business Litigation Practice Group. Mr. Cashdan focuses his practice on antitrust and complex business trial matters.

Mr. Cashdan has extensive experience in antitrust litigation and counseling for a variety of clients. His antitrust work includes representing clients in criminal and civil global cartel matters and in other civil antitrust actions involving various industries, including chemicals, pharmaceuticals, beverages, energy, financial products, telecommunications, hospitality, and healthcare. Mr. Cashdan has been ranked in the top tier of antitrust lawyers in every edition of Chambers USA: America’s Leading Business Lawyers. The Best Lawyers in America selected Mr. Cashdan as the “Atlanta Antitrust Lawyer of the Year” in 2011, 2012, and 2013. Mr. Cashdan is ranked among the world’s top antitrust lawyers in Chambers Global, and Global Competition Review selected Mr. Cashdan as among the world’s Who’s Who of Competition Lawyers & Economists.

Mr. Cashdan also has substantial experience in other commercial litigation areas. He has represented firms and individuals in several purported class actions alleging securities fraud and other securities law violations. Mr. Cashdan regularly defends consumer fraud and RICO actions, and has represented businesses as plaintiffs and defendants in complex commercial litigation and appellate matters in a variety of substantive areas and industries. Mr. Cashdan is listed by The Best Lawyers in America as a leading lawyer for “bet the company” litigation, as well as for antitrust and commercial litigation. Mr. Cashdan is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, an invitation-only trial lawyer honorary society.

Mr. Cashdan is a graduate of the University of Chicago Law School, where he served on the law review. Mr. Cashdan clerked for The Honorable Gerald Bard Tjoflat, then Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Mr. Cashdan earned his undergraduate degree from Claremont McKenna College, and studied at the London School of Economics and Political Science prior to attending law school. Mr. Cashdan served for many years among the leadership of the antitrust sections of the American and Georgia Bar Associations, including as the Chair of the Antitrust Section of the State Bar of Georgia and as a Vice-Chair of the Sherman Act Section 2 (monopolization) committee of the ABA’s Antitrust Section and on the ABA’s task force on international cartel enforcement issues. Mr. Cashdan also has served on the editorial boards of several publications, including the Antitrust Law Journal.

Mr. Cashdan is active in legal pro bono and community activities. Among Mr. Cashdan’s civic activities, he serves on the Board of Trustees for the Woodruff Arts Center; serves on the Indigent Defense Committee for the State Bar of Georgia; serves on the Advisory Council for Crime Stoppers Atlanta; and is a Life Fellow of the Lawyers Foundation of Georgia. Mr. Cashdan is a member of the Leadership Atlanta Class of 2008 and has served on the Board of Directors (Past President) of the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation, a non-profit foundation dedicated to providing legal representation for persons of low income; on the Board of Directors of Special Olympics Georgia; on the Board of Directors for Hosea Feed the Hungry & Homeless; and on the Board of Directors for the Claremont McKenna College Alumni Association.

Mr. Cashdan has held various positions of law firm leadership, including Practice Group Leader for the Business Litigation Practice Group, Hiring Partner, and service on the firm’s Associate Evaluation and Pro Bono Committees.
