John Adkins represents clients in labor and employment law matters. He is past chair of the Labor and Employment Group, the Litigation Training Committee, and the National Pro Bono Committee. Before joining Bingham, Dana & Gould in 1972, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a defense lawyer, prosecutor, military judge and instructor at the Naval Justice School.
John regularly appears before state and federal agencies and courts throughout the New England region. He is principal author of Massachusetts Practice Series, Vol. 45, Employment Law, 2nd Ed. (Thomson/West 2003) and co-editor of Massachusetts Employment Law (MCLE 2011). John is also a management member of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the American Bar Association, Labor Law Council of the Massachusetts Bar Association, Labor and Employment Law Section of the Boston Bar Association, and the Litigation Curriculum Advisory Committee of Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education Inc. He was a founding member of the Governor’s Advisory Board to the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination and is a frequent lecturer on employment law matters.
