John Paul Motley

John-Paul Motley is a partner in O’Melveny’s Los Angeles office and a member of the Firm’s Capital Markets Practice. John-Paul has experience in securities law matters (including public offerings and private placements), mergers and acquisitions, and other general corporate law matters. He has assisted both private and public companies on equity offerings, including initial public offerings, private placements, and secondary offerings. John-Paul also has experience with both private and public debt offerings, including high-yield offerings. He has represented both buyers and sellers in mergers and acquisitions and also advises public companies with securities law compliance, disclosure issues, and corporate governance matters.

He has been recognized as a Southern California "Rising Star" in a survey conducted by Law & Politics Media Inc. and published in Los Angeles magazine and the Southern California edition of Super Lawyers for the past eight years. The Legal 500 has also recognized John-Paul in each of the last three years and noted that he is particularly recommended on the equity side with his experience in representing a number of issuer clients.
