John Baecher concentrates on project finance, primarily in the private power industry, and related general corporate and commercial law. Mr. Baecher has extensive experience working with sponsors, lenders and investors in the development and financing of privately-financed independent power projects. He has assisted several of the largest global independent power companies in the expansion of their U.S. holdings and in their international development and acquisition activities in Argentina, Brazil, Guatemala, Mexico, El Salvador, the United Kingdom, Venezuela and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Mr. Baecher advises U.S. and international sponsors and lenders in connection with evaluating and responding to requests-for-proposals (RFPs) issued by governments and investor-owned utilities relating to the acquisition or development of power plants, transmission and distribution systems, LNG terminals, ports and other associated facilities as well as project restructurings and corporate asset acquisitions and divestitures.
