Jonathan Cohen concentrates his practice on leasing of office and retail properties throughout the United States and Canada for both landlord and tenant clients. Representative clients include Cisco Systems, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Lincoln Property Co., Wells Real Estate Funds, Aon Corporation, Transwestern/Pearlmark, VeriSign and FTI Consulting.

Since 1994, Jonathan has drafted and negotiated thousands of office and retail leases and related documents on behalf of local, national and international office tenants, leading national retail chains, and national and local office building and shopping center developers and owners. Jonathan advises clients on a wide variety of lease issues, including leasehold improvement matters, escalation and lease audit provisions, and operational and enforcement issues.

In his role as Lead Facilities Leasing Counsel - US, Jonathan negotiates leases, subleases and space licenses, and handles lease-related matters for DLA Piper's North American offices, a portfolio of over 30 locations comprising in excess of 2 million square feet.

Jonathan began his legal career with DLA Piper in 1981, practicing commercial real estate law with an emphasis on financing, acquisitions and dispositions, and construction contracting.
