Jorge Diaz Silveira

Jorge Diaz-Silveira is Global Co-Head of Hogan Lovells' Infrastructure Industry team and focuses his practice on the development, financing, and construction of projects throughout the United States and abroad, with an emphasis on the energy, petrochemicals, agricultural, transportation, and water sectors. His practice, which extends more than 25 years, includes a broad range of experience in construction and real estate matters, including representation of developers, lenders, contractors, and other parties involved in infrastructure and a variety of other projects. These projects have included engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) agreements, development agreements, loan agreements, technical services agreements, license agreements, procurement contracts, and design/build agreements. Jorge has been the lead attorney on major development projects in the United States, Latin America, Europe, and Asia. Many of these projects have included energy, petrochemicals, mining, manufacturing facilities, and water matters.

Jorge has represented a number of sponsor parties in all facets related to the development of projects in the United States, Asia, the Caribbean, and Central and South America, including liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects; gas storage facilities; road projects; petrochemical projects; alumina refineries; water reservoirs; manufacturing facilities; biomedical facilities; and gas-fired, wind-powered, hydro-electric, coal, solar, and nuclear-powered power projects. Jorge has also represented a number of state-owned companies in the development of infrastructure projects and has worked on a number of public-private partnerships. He also handles general real estate matters, including representing sellers, purchasers, lenders, borrowers, landlords, and tenants.

Jorge has lectured extensively on his areas of practice at a number of industry conferences and regularly lectures at the University of Miami School of Law. He is widely recognized as one of the leading international lawyers in the area of engineering, procurement, and construction contracts.
