Matthew N. Bathon is of counsel in Steptoe's Washington office, where he is a member of the Intellectual Property Group. His practice focuses on litigating Section 337 investigations before the International Trade Commission (ITC). Mr. Bathon is also experienced in handling patent infringement matters before district courts and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Mr. Bathon has handled matters across a variety of technologies, including semiconductor lasers and laser drivers, digital televisions, video game systems, computer architecture, computer graphics, communications protocols, telecommunications technology, software design, and digital video compression.

Mr. Bathon served as a senior investigative attorney in the ITC's Office of Unfair Import Investigations, where he represented the federal government in investigations regarding electrical, computer, and mechanical patents in various technologies.
